Don't reel up and break down those rods quite yet!
One the main reasons why we love the sport of fly fishing is the endless possibilities to feed hungry fish 365 days a year. Winter seems to get people down in the fly fishing world. Long gone are the days of size 6 Chernobyls and finger sized Drakes, but here in Colorado we have so many world class tailwaters at our disposal that there is absolutely no reason to not keep a rigged up rod in the car all winter long. Don’t like crowds? Fish in the winter. Like technical dry fly fishing? Winter. Need an excuse to sip whiskey at 9 a.m. with your buddies? Winter. It’s a no brainer!
Join us at the Old Town shop on Wednesday, November 8th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. for a free presentation on Winter Fishing Tactics. We’ll go over all the necessary equipment and riggings to set you up for success, as well as discuss a few of the locations we like to frequent when chasing winter time trout. Give us a call at (970) 498-8968 to RSVP, space is limited.
