Flush those bad vibes away!
Were you trying get in some early spring fishing on the Reef or Mile, but are discouraged by the flows? Don’t be so quick to flush those plans downstream! Just like the Poudre, the high, dirty water means fish become more comfortable in their surroundings and much more vulnerable to us.
First off, they feed more recklessly as a smorgasbord of annelids, rockworms, stoneflies, craneflies and other juicy invertebrates come bouncing down the river bottom. In an attempt to get out of the fast flows, fish push to the edges of rivers and into side channels, quite literally to our feet. You just gotta get up there and see for yourself!
