Having a free flowing river like the Poudre right out our back door means many of us get caught up in that carefree freestone mindset.  It's all fun and huge dry flies until Mother Nature snaps her cold, wintery fingers and we lose the reckless feeding habits of those summertime trout we love so much.  We now look to our dam controlled neighbors to the north, south, and west to put a bend in the rod, but often times the tactics, from rigging to flies, vary drastically and the trout have more education in the subtle differences in the bugs that fill our fly boxes than we do.  Low flows, more pressure, and large, well seasoned trout make for a challenge, but one of the most exciting and rewarding challenges we face as fly fishers.

If tailwaters tend to send you scurrying back home with your tail between your legs,  we have a solution.  On Wednesday, January 17, 2018, we will be putting on a Free Tailwater Tactics Presentation aimed at getting you up to speed on how to set you rigs up to please these sophisticated trout, where and when to go, and just about everything else you need to build up a foundation for you to have the confidence and knowledge to truly enjoy fly fishing 365 days a year.

Colorado has some of the most famous tailwater fisheries in the entire country and it's time to take full advantage of them!  Give us a call at (970) 498-8968 to get yourself signed up, space is limited!
