When it comes to picking out a new watercraft, one of the
most difficult aspects is making sure you choose the right raft and that it is
equipped with the proper frame. Thanks to NRS, they have made the process easy
with their fully equipped Slipstream and Approach Series Rafts. Another major
decision is choosing the right size raft for your needs, whether that’s based
on the number of anglers or if you have a trailer or not. NRS Slipstream and Approach Series Rafts have you covered on this front as well. With five
different models of boats, one is sure to fit your angling and trailering desires. Below is a breakdown of a few of the boats that we find to be the best in class for their size. If you want to expand your angling horizons, there is
no better way to do so than with a raft. Let us help you get properly outfitted and show you how to use your new NRS Raft.

As we mentioned, between the Slipstream and Approach Series boats, there are five different models. Of these models, we believe that three
of them stand out as winners in their class for different reasons. None are a bad choice; it just depends on what suits you best. Rather than discuss all five boats, we’ll cover the three below and help you decide which craft is right for you. Starting from the smallest to the largest, each boat has its benefits within its class.

NRS Slipstream 10'6" Raft

Hands down, one of the shop’s favorite two-person rafts is the NRS Slipstream 10’6”. Being a bit wider than the Approach boats, this craft has maximum stability for being under 11 feet. The Slipstream series comes with the NRS aluminum frame and a minimalist build, making it light and rigid.

The boat comes equipped with two seats (for rowers and anglers), an anchor system,
leg braces, oar locks, and rod racks. The Slipstream 10’6” boat is light enough for two people to carry and is built with the adventure angler in mind. Want to get into those sneaky spots but still have the sturdy floatability of a larger boat? The 10’6” Slipstream is the craft for you.

NRS Approach 12' Raft

The next notable boat in the lineup that has tons of game on the water is the NRS Approach 12’ raft. The 12-foot Approach rafts are narrower than the Slipstream counterparts, built with the intention of fitting in the bed of a truck or the roof rack of a vehicle. Back your vehicle up to the water, and you are ready to launch this craft with ease.

Like the Slipstream, the Approach comes equipped with two seats (for rowers and anglers), an anchor system, leg braces, oar locks, and rod racks. Additionally, the seats are waterproof with under compartments and workstations, allowing for easy
organization and storage. Want to get into shallow, tight spots on rivers or lakes without having to pull a trailer? The NRS 12’ Approach is the raft for you.

NRS Slipstream 12'9" Raft

Finally, the NRS Slipstream 12’9” is the best in class for being compact while stepping up in size to a three-person boat. These boats come equipped with three seats (one rower and two anglers), allowing you to bring two of your favorite fishing buddies along. Being a bit larger in class, we find this boat to be ideal for floating in most of the waters in the West. These boats are designed for high rowing performance while keeping angling comfort in mind.

Like the smaller Slipstream, the 12’9” boat comes equipped with three seats (for rowers and anglers), an anchor system, leg braces, oar locks, and rod racks. If you’re looking for a boat with a bit more stability and size yet still light and sneaky on the water, the 12’9” Slipstream raft is a wonderfully suited boat.

Rowers Package

The beauty of the NRS boats is the simplicity of the grab-and-go concept. These boats are equipped with most of the items you will need to be successful on the water. If you want to fully equip your raft, we recommend picking up the NRS Rowers Package. Each package is designed specifically for the different models, making the grab-and-go concept complete.Rowers Packages are sold separately and include the following:
