Upper North Platte Fishing Report
Last Updated:7/1/2026
Current Streamflow 135 cfs @ Northgate Canyon
The Upper North Platte's flows have started to go down from runoff which means that the smaller bugs like PMDs and caddis are much more active with less turbulent water to live in. That being said it is worth keeping an eye on water temperatures throughout the day as dropping flows can cause water temps to creep up.
Dry droppers have still been the most productive approach with stonefly and cicada dries with a caddis or PMD dropper below. Dry flies have also proved to be effective with PMD and caddis dries finding fish once the bugs start to hatch. The streamer bite has remained consistent, with fish eating streamers well in between hatches and during stormier afternoons.
