Grey Reef Fishing Report

With warmer days on the reef, the bugs have been out and happy.
Tricos are popping in the mornings!
Fishing nymph rigs that incorporate large attractor flies like pine squirrel leeches and worm patterns with a smaller PMD or Caddis pattern behind is a great option this time of year on the Reef. These large nymph rigs allow you to target the fish holding in the deeper buckets and seams. Hotter temperatures also bring the grasshoppers out at the reef, so fishing a hopper pattern with a dropper behind can be a nice change of pace on the reef. While it is less effective than full nymph rigs it can still find fish that are pinned up near the bank.
If you would like to book a float trip on the Reef or learn more about it feel free to give either shop a call.
