Encampment River Fishing Report
Last Updated: 6/29/2026
Current 54 CFS @ Encampment
Runoff has tapered off and the Encampment has reached flows unsuitable to float, but this can still be one of the most productive times of the year when walk wading the river. The colder morning temperatures have meant that nymphing has been the biggest producer recently. Using PMD, caddis and green drake nymphs mixed with stonefly patterns has been the best approach when nymphing.
The dry fly bite has improved greatly with fish eating a number of different mayfly species like green drakes and PMDs, fish have also been keying into caddis when the drakes or PMDs have not been as prevalent. Streamers have also been a consistent approach in the afternoon when the bugs start to settle down a bit.
