Current Streamflow: 149 cfs @ Encampment

Fishing on the Encampment has still been productive.  Snow and ice will be on the side of the river, so be careful as you approach the water.  Small midges and Baetis patterns are great options for morning and evening hatches.  Nymph rigs will be the most productive way to catch fish this time of year, but you may still see small midges and BWO’s hatching in the mornings and evenings.  Small Two Bit Hookers, Micro Mayfly, Hare’s Ears, and Zebra Midges are great options for weighted nymphs.  You can trail these bugs with a small Juan’s Jedi Master, Barr’s Emerger BWO, CDC RS2, or Juju Baetis.  Streamers are still an effective way of pulling up larger trout, so they are worth a try.  Articulated Goldies, Sculpzillas, and Dungeons are just a few favorites of the shop.

Stay safe and happy fishing!
