Latest Update: 11/30/2024
Current Streamflow : 538 cfs @ Miracle Mile
Winter is here and the fishing has been productive on the Miracle Mile. Snow and ice will be on the sides of the river, so be careful as you approach the water. Midges and BWO’s are still hatching in the mornings and evenings, so be ready with some small dry flies should a hatch start to come off. Nymphing will still be the most productive, with leeches, worms, and scuds as the top fly. Trail these bugs with small baetis nymphs and midges, such as a Two Bit Hooker, Mayhem, Macgruber, or Theo’s North Platte Emerger.
Streamer fishing is still a viable option on the Miracle Mile. The big browns have finally made their way into the river system, and are hungry and looking to put on some weight for the cold winter ahead. Articulated Goldies, Rusty Trombones, Ebonies, and Platte River Spiders are great choices, whether they are swung or actively stripped through the water.
Stay warm and happy fishing!
