Fly fishing begins with knowing the field conditions.  The first step is to check the water temperature.

Wrap your used leaders and tippets around the thermometer using the waste line holder slots.  Once off the water, just clip off the used line and dispose.

Strong magnet at the end of thermometer helps retrieval of the fly that is accidentally dropped.  It also works as a temporary fly keeper.
