Fly Tying Season is Here!
Fall is when most of our thoughts go to seeking out the last fish of our local freestone rivers, and gearing up for our favorite tailwaters in search of large, hungry trout. The dry fly rods stay around for those occasional BWO and midge hatches, and some of us are reaching for the streamer rods to throw our favorite meaty snacks. However, on the other end of the spectrum, many of us are utilizing the longer evening hours at the fly tying vise to restock our fly boxes and prep for the next outing. There truly is something special about fishing and hopefully catching, with a fly from your own hands.
In this spirit we have officially kicked off our Fly Tying classes for 2024/2025

If you’ve never tied a fly before, or maybe it’s been a few years, our Intro to Fly Tying class will give you the basic skills to start crafting your own flies and enhance your next experience on the water. Like any hobby, fly fishing itself included, the beginning steps of learning to tie your own flies can be overwhelming. That’s another reason we offer this class. Not only are you learning the basic skills, but you will become familiar with the necessary tools and terminology of the trade. From there, we are more than happy to discuss getting your own vise, tools and the materials to send you on your tying journey.
