St. Peter's Angler's Entomology Class

One of the most challenging aspects about Fly Fishing is trying to find out what fish are eating. With a plethora of options at a fish’s disposal, this can be an incredibly intimidating and overwhelming puzzle. Knowing what flies to use and when to use them, can be all the difference between catching fish or coming home disappointed. In the classroom setting of Angler’s Entomology, students learn about aquatic insects, how to identify them, their hatch timing and how this influences trout to eat. To help students reach this state of awareness we will observe macro photography, real specimens, the environment in which they live, and how to mimic these insects.
