Miracle Mile - North Platte River
Regional Option: About a three-hour drive away, “The Mile” on the North Platte River near Alcova, Wyoming is a world-renowned stretch of advanced water before flowing into a series of reservoirs toward Casper. Known for holding large, hard-fighting trout, this destination offers a true test of anglers.
Grey Reef - North Platte River
Regional Option: When anglers are chasing big fish on big water, we head to Grey Reef on the North Platte River, located about a three-hour drive away. This productive lower section offers year-round opportunities for large trout, and while wade access is available, fishing from a boat is the most effective way to cover the water.
Upper North Platte River
Regional Option: About a two-hour drive from Fort Collins, the Upper North Platte River flows north from Colorado into Wyoming along the Snowy Mountain Range and through the Medicine Bow National Forest. Early summer guided trips offer incredible fishing amid prolific salmon fly, green drake, and caddis hatches you truly have to experience firsthand.
Encampment River
Regional Option: About a two-hour drive away, the Encampment River begins just east of the Continental Divide in northern Colorado, briefly flows into Wyoming, and joins the North Platte River. Known for prolific stonefly, green drake, caddis, and PMD hatches, it offers outstanding dry fly fishing opportunities.
Horsetooth Reservoir
Local Option: Join us for our local warmwater trips on Horsetooth Reservoir, just minutes from our door in Old Town Fort Collins, where you can broaden your angling horizons and discover new species. These excursions are centered around targeting Smallmouth bass, utilizing boats to navigate and explore the structures along the reservoir's edges.
Lonetree Reservoir
Local Option: Escape the ordinary with a warm water fishing trip to Lonetree, a private access lake near Loveland in Colorado’s Front Range. Lonetree features diverse fishing opportunities with species including largemouth bass, white and hybrid bass, carp, walleye, and tiger musky.
Cache la Poudre River
Local Option: The Cache La Poudre stands out as one of the few undammed rivers in the state, offering breathtaking canyon views. Located just minutes from our shop, it is our favorite local water and the main location for our guided trips.
